The wife of the Late Ibrahim Murtala Mohammed, who perished in the tragic helicopter crash, shared an emotional tribute at his funeral.
Delivering her tribute to the late husband on August 15, Hadiatu Murtala Mohammed touted the late Environment, Science and Innovation minister as a ‘man of deep father and humble’ man.
She exclaimed how she shared her husband, who is a selfless person, with the president, his friends, and family while he was alive.
She called him “trustworthy and dependable, the kind of person you could call at any hour, knowing he would answer.”
“Ah… my dear, the President has called me.” It was then she realised she shared him not only with family and friends, but with the President of Ghana too.
“He had a wonderful sense of humour that could light up a room, and a heart that was always ready to help,” she said.
“More often than not, he put others before himself. He worked hard not for recognition, but because it was in his nature to serve.”
Closing her tribute, Hadiatu said, “Mohammed’s life was a blessing to us, and his memory will forever be a treasure. Rest well, my husband. May Allah grant you Jannatul Firdaus. We love you, we miss you, and we will carry your light with us always.”
