We have just gathered that a helicopter had no option but to embark on an emergency landing somewhere in the Eastern region of Ghana.
According to Edhub on X, the helicopter with registration number 9G-AFW this morning made an emergency landing at Nkawkaw, near a school.
In a video making the rounds on the internet, the pilot could be seen in the cockpit making some adjustments.
The headmaster of New Generation School, located near the site where a helicopter made an emergency landing this morning at Nkawkaw, disclosed that the aircraft initially attempted to land in the school compound but moved away after spotting schoolchildren nearby.
He said he approached the pilot to ask why he landed, and the pilot explained that it was a safety precaution due to poor weather conditions.
SikaOfficial wrote on X “Another helicopter with tail number 9G-AFW has successfully executed an emergency landing at Nkawkaw in the Kwahu West District, following weather disruptions during its flight.”
This comes a few days after a helicopter carrying some government officials and military men of the Ghana Armed Forces crashed at Adansi leading to the death of all passengers on board the flight.
