The Ministry of Communication, Digital Technology and Innovation (MCDTI) has imposed a statutory GH¢10,000 daily fine on Multichoice Ghana (DSTV), over their failure to provide critical information regarding their pricing in accordance with the Electronic Communications Act.
According to the Minister, the data request, which was issued, included a breakdown of bouquet prices, tax components, and comparisons with at least six other African countries, as part of the ongoing review of the company’s operation and pricing in Ghana.
The Minister has reiterated that the company’s broadcasting license will be suspended if it maintains their current stance and fails to reduce prices by September 6, 2025.
